I painted this after completing another called Sea Shore. I wanted to make some changes and improvements. I made this painting much more painterly and impressionistic and used different sea birds. I darkened the sail as to make it pop from the white sea foam waves and moved the boat up to show more sea under the bottom of the sail. The colors are more tropical looking. I am new to sea paintings as I live in the desert.

As an essentially self-taught artist, I have found my own truths and artistic paths. I am naturally curious and fervid about understanding new techniques, making the self-learning process a challenge I enjoy. Through the years, I have studied printmaking, drawing, painting, and graphic design, and I feel fortunate to have had a very successful career in that extremely competitive field.
