Juan Romero

Very nice work, Sandra! This looks like a New Mexican TORREON, tower that Spanish settlers used in New Mexico to protect themselves from marauders. They were used in 18th and 19th centuries, and a few are still standing. There is one in Taos by Torreon Courts betwen the Plaza and Pueblo, and a larger one (large and well preserved) in Abiquiu--was on cover of NM Magazine a few years ago. --Fr. Juan
